- Krispy Kreme fundraiser for Holy Spirit Youth Group
During the past week, I am sure you, like I, have seen and heard many heartbreaking stories mixed with incredible acts of kindness and generosity. Many of our families have fortunately been spared the trauma of flood and associated damage and as a result, have been willing to offer assistance.
This week our Holy Spirit value is loyalty. The beginning of the year is a very important time for many students as they form friendships. As the extreme weather conditions at the beginning of our school year has disrupted a lot the normal ‘settling in’ activities and interactions, we encourage students this week to be loyal to their peers through their actions, for example being a reliable and true friend.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul invites you to donate to their N.Q. Flood Appeal. You can either call 131812 between 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday or visit their site online at www.vinnies.org.au/donate then click on the NQ Flood Appeal. We continue to keep all those affected in our prayers.
A reminder to all our families that the last day for registering your child in the Sacramental Programme will be for the Holy Spirit Parish Sacramental Programme. If you are having any problems with downloading the forms, please call the school. Alternatively, Enrolment forms are available at the Holy Spirit Parish Office.
Congratulations to our Student Leaders for 2019

The Parent Portal - Keeping You Informed
Last year our school implemented a new student management system called ‘Compass’. An important component of this software is the Compass Parent Portal. We will be running an information session about this new system on Monday, 18 February at 2.30 pm and again at 6.30 pm in the Lynch Family Hall.
The meeting will take approximately 15 minutes. If you require extra support allow more time for us to help you login to the system. Please bring your smart phone if you have one.
The Compass Parent Portal allows you to:
-
Enter details of absences or late arrivals or early departures for your son or daughter
-
Access your child’s Semester Reports
-
View the News Feed of school announcements, alerts, updates
-
Update your contact details (email and phone number)
-
Book Parent/Teacher interviews
-
View Chronicle information about your child
-
View your child's timetable and the school calendar
-
View up-to-date attendance information for your childNewsletter
Additional information sessions regarding the Parent Portal will be held in the hall on Monday, 18 February at 2.30 pm and again at 6.30 pm.
I would encourage you to attend an information session. Further information is available at

A full calendar of events is available for viewing on the school’s website.
