Principal's Corner
During the past week, I am sure you, like I, have seen and heard many heartbreaking stories mixed with incredible acts of kindness and generosity. Many of our families have fortunately been spared the trauma of flood and associated damage and as a result, have been willing to offer assistance.
As we become aware of community needs, we will advise our families as to the type of support we can offer. Thank you to those who responded to the Facebook request regarding accommodation; the family has now located a home. We will hold a fundraising event during this term to assist those affected by flood, in the meantime, it is important for each of us to be vigilant in offering the ear of support and looking out for our fellow Townsvillians.
Our school psychologist, Natalie Arnel is available for parents seeking assistance for their children or themselves. Natalie can be contacted through the school office or via email narnel4@hsstsv.catholic.edu.au
This week, our students were finally able to access the playground and play and socialise with their friends, a long awaited event! Last Friday, we held a brief assembly and we were very proud of our students' participation and responses.
Due to the rain some scheduled events have been postponed. Our 2019 student leaders will be commissioned during our Opening School Mass on Wednesday, 27 February.
The Year 3-6 School Swimming Carnival will now take place at the end of the year on Friday, 29 November.
All Queensland families affected by flood continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
