“Trinity” means something made up of three.  This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Trinity and give thanks for the three persons of God.  God the Father created the world and everything in it.  He loved us so much, He sent God the Son to show us how to live with goodness.  God the Spirit empowers our hearts to live God’s word with courage and love.  We also remind ourselves of the Holy Trinity each time we make the sign of the Cross before we pray.  ‘In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’…

This week at Holy Spirit, we value faithfulness.  Faithfulness is highly regarded throughout the Bible.  It is listed by Paul as a ‘fruit of the Spirit’ (Galatians 5:22).  Jesus puts faithfulness alongside justice and mercy (Matthew 23:23).  Mother Teresa said, ‘I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.’  God’s faithfulness towards us gives us an example to follow in our own relationships.  Faithfulness is something we should strive for in friendships and in our relationship with others and God.  This week we pray that each one of us in our own way can share God’s words and faith with those around us.

On Friday, classes will celebrate Holy Spirit Day.  Like many other activities that usually take place in our school, the pandemic has brought about changes in how we will celebrate this day.  Classes will hold prayer as well as engage in an activity that will encourage students to learn and reflect on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they can use their gifts – for example, when things become difficult or challenging, whether it is in friendships or work, not to give up but keep trying until the situation is resolved or they achieve success.
