Principal's Corner
Last Saturday, members of the School Board attended a formation day. Members of the Holy Spirit School Board are drawn from parents, parish members and the staff members.
The members are:
Parents - Damien Farrington, Michael Catt and Fred Nucifora
Parish – Fr. John Kunnathumadappallil and Michael Purcell
Staff – Caroline Fuller, Begona Bengoa and Geraldine Egelton
The role of the School Board is to look at the future direction of the school. Over the past four years the Holy Spirit School Board has assisted with the planning and development of the school resulting in 20 new classrooms. The School Board has also re viewed and re-written the School Mission Statement: - Inspired by gospel values and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, we nurture a love of learning, respect and service in an environment of generosity.
On Monday evening two more key parent groups met. The Indigenous Parents Reference Group met to plan events for the year ahead. This group of parents have been responsible for our amazing NAIDOC celebrations and other activities across the school year.
The CAFE parents also held the AGM and congratulations to those elected into positions for 2020: President - Madison O’Flynn
Vice President – Sarah Brown
Secretary – Kristy Bates
Diocesan Representative – Rachel Nucifora
Last year, Holy Spirit CAFE funded the Urban Warrior Course in the Year 4-6 playground and the mural on the Prep climbing wall. This year they are committed to funding The Resilience Project for student well-being.
Throughout any day at Holy Spirit, parents are assisting in classrooms and the tuckshop. Thank you to all who contribute generously for the benefit of our students.
God Bless
Geraldine
