Have you had the opportunity to meet your child's teacher? Your child's teacher will spend on average, twenty five hours per week with your son or daughter. It is worth getting to know someone who will spend that much time each week teaching and caring for your child. Parent-teacher interviews are a great way to meet and spend time getting to know the teacher as you discuss your child.

Parents are busy people with many demands on their time, emails can be a great way to communicate, however, they do not provide the same opportunity that a face to face interview provides. 

Leading parenting educator Michael Grose, states that strong parent-teacher relationships are a major contributor to student success. In his article, 'Working Closely with Your Child's Teacher', he also states that strong parent-teacher relationships are a more significant factor than parent income levels or social status.

Parent-teacher interviews will be held this term throughout the first two weeks of March. The meeting is an opportunity to discuss how your child has settled into their class routines.  

Please make sure you have your Compass login, as this will allow you to book interview times through the parent portal. Bookings for interviews should be available from Friday afternoon.
