World Teachers' Day
This Friday we celebrate World Teachers' Day. World Teachers' Day recognises the contribution educators make to the world.
On Monday our teachers spent the day reflecting on the Learning and Teaching Cycle. Their engagement and professionalism was indeed admirable. As society continues to change, our teachers are required to continue to update their pedagogy (the science of teaching).
According to education specialists, Fisher and Frey, there are many processes that go on behind teaching, mostly they are invisible to students and parents.
Days such as last Monday, provide the opportunity for teachers to engage in professional dialogue to get these 'backend' processes right.
The theme for this year is "Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession". It is encouraging to see the contribution and dedication of our early career teachers - take a bow!
