New research published in US journal Pediatrics says that even kids having difficulties at home are more likely to care about schoolwork and homework if they have a sympathetic, caring parent. Children who had some type of difficulty at home were also only half as likely to need to repeat a grade when they had at least one adult they could really talk to.
