Many Year 6 parents may have found their household a little quieter last Saturday.
On Friday evening our students and a group of staff members participated in our annual St Vincent de Paul Sleep Out.
Our Mini Vinnies entered into a simulated experience of ‘homelessness’ and donated bedding for those in need.
The students entered into the spirit of the evening. It had a dual purpose of developing an appreciation of what we have while working towards changing attitudes and growing a more compassionate heart like Jesus.
I was impressed with the way students met a variety of challenges and their poignant responses when discussing and praying for the homeless.
Bouquets to Mary McAuliffe, from St Vincent de Paul, Fr. John, and our staff members who made this event possible- a great commitment on a Friday evening!
All donations are still welcomed, the only request is that pillows are not second hand.
