Today we celebrated Grandparents’ Day. Each year our students invite, encourage or coerce their grandparents to come to school and they arrive in droves despite the challenge of finding a parking spot!

Parents are increasingly busy. Often both parents are working and supportive grandparents make a huge difference to busy families. They not only provide emotional support but also supply a reliable and free taxi and babysitting service.

Children can learn attitudes, values and skills from grandparents. Grandparents make up a large number of volunteers in our community and as such are great role models for their grandchildren.

At Holy Spirit grandparents assist in the classroom, on Sports’ Days, in the tuck-shop, at the fete and even a school camp! 

Today we salute the grandparents and those who fulfil the role of grandparents. May God bless you in abundance!
