FROM THE APA

The holidays provides a fantastic opportunity to check over school uniforms and chase up any adjustments that need to be made. Our children do grow and we do love to play, so some of those black shoes may need replacing. Please see photos of what is acceptable and what is not. Thank you for your assistance with this.

As we come to the end of the term, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the success that has been experienced throughout the term. We started the term with safety talks from RACQ, Mulkadee and Catholic Education Week. We had a presentation from Mindset Australia about positive attitudes and resilience. Some of our students represented our school at the Challenge Games and some finished season 2 interschool sport. We celebrated with an open day and 50 years Under the Stars concert. Our year 5 classes went to Gumburu for their annual camp and discovered the joys and wonder of the rainforest. Book Week was another huge success and many join in the celebrations of 'Reading is my superpower'. Thanks also to our catholic high schools for fostering our love of reading with our students. we have had Tennis Qld, AFL, Rugby Union visit to deliver programs to our students in Years 2, 3 and 4. The Year 2's have been to Billabong Sanctuary to further their learning about Australian animals. Who could forget the fantastic day for Grandparents 2 weeks ago. Another celebration of special people in our lives. Now we finish with Eisteddfod and the Blackhawks Challenge this week. Somewhere in all this, we continue to provide quality teaching and learning in our school. Wow! What a term. Thank you to all involved in our school community.

Next Term, we see the first ever "Colour Me Crazy at Holy Spirit Catholic School. It will be held on 13 October at 10am. It will co-incide with our Parish / School Mass at 8.30am. It is open to only Holy Spirit Catholic School families. It is a $2 entry or $5 for a family. The money raised will assist a school in bushfire affected areas in Qld. There will be 2 sessions so you can run/walk the course and then volunteer for the other session for others to have a go. If you can help out on the day, please contact myself at the school or email pmartin@hsstsv.catholic.edu.au

Have a wonderful holiday and stay safe. School resumes for term 4 on Tuesday 8th October.
Happy Days
