Principal's Corner
In the last couple of weeks, some of our staff have been impacted by the loss of a loved one very close to them. Mrs Kim Williamson , class teacher in 2D lost her Dad Gary last week. Gemma McConochie, Inclusive Practice teacher, lost her mother in law, Sue after a very short battle with cancer. Both these families are dealing with grief and we keep them in our prayers during this time.
Christians around the world last weekend celebrated Pentecost Sunday, marking the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples and the Church was born. More than just the close of the Easter season, Pentecost reminds us that faith is not meant to be kept behind closed doors. The Spirit calls us to go out, speak boldly, and build communities of hope, justice, and peace. As we mark this feast, may we open our hearts to the Spirit’s guidance and be renewed in our mission to live and share the Good News.
This week, we celebrate Holy Spirit Day as this coincides with Pentecost, the birth of the Church. On Friday, we will have our annual Spirit walk and family picnic. We welcome families to join us on the walk, or the picnic or both. This is a time for us to celebrate as a community the generosity of the lynch family , many years ago, for the donation of the land upon which our school is built. We are inspired by this 'spirit filled' gesture back in the 60's and we continue to make our school a place of welcome, with a spirit of excellence.
