Principal's Corner

Principal's Photo 2018
This week we commence the Church season of Lent which begins with today, Ash Wednesday. Lent is a great time to consciously stop and take note of our relationship with God and others.

Last Sunday the gospel reminded us that it is easier to identify the faults in others, rather than recognise faults in ourselves.  Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?
Time is a precious commodity for busy families, fortunately, social media is a wonderful way to keep in touch instantly with family members and friends. Sadly, it can also bring out the worst when used as an avenue to criticise others.

Today in our Ash Wednesday Liturgy for the Prep to Year 2 student, we used the well known story of the Rainbow Fish. It is a great story illustrating how kindness and generosity can build relationships with others.

During Lent there is an opportunity for each of us to remove the beam in our eye before we try to remove the splinters in others.
God Bless
