What a start to 2025. January produced some scorching heat and now we ride the waves of this severe weather event. Our school has come through this fairly unscathed but we are always aware some of our families and staff have not.

Besides this, welcome back to another year at Holy Spirit Catholic School. To the many new families, especially our Prep's, we are excited to have you join the Spirit community.

On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis symbolically opened the Holy Door at St Peter's Basilica, marking the start of the 2025 Jubilee year. This happens every 25 years and are times of reconciliation and renewal. The theme for this Jubilee year is 'Pilgrims of Hope'.

At Holy Spirit, we have taken this theme and tried to bring a Holy Spirit perspective to it that our students, staff and families can relate to. Throughout this year, we will be working with our theme: " In the Spirit of Hope" -  a call to embrace the hope of Christ, a hope that does not disappoint.

During our Pupil Free Days, Professor Br David Hall spoke to teaching staff about our call to Catholic Education. Br David spoke of Paul's Letter to the Corinthians where we all have God given gifts and we are called to share these gifts with the world. Our new school leaders were also called to share their gifts with the school for 2025.

"In the Spirit of Hope", may 2025 fill our hearts with hope.
