Week 4 already! Can you believe it? After a messy start to the year we are settling well into routines and getting down to the business of learning. Something important you may not yet be aware of, is that at HSCS we focus each week on a different value. During week 4 that value is RESPONSIBILITY!
We have a few different ways of talking about responsibility. There’s being responsible, taking responsibility, acting responsibly and having responsibilities. They are all related to doing the things we are supposed to do and accepting the positive or negative outcome of our actions.
When we act responsibly, or do the things we are responsible for doing, we have a positive consequence. A consequence is what happens as a result of our actions. Being responsible leads to more trust and freedom because people know they can count on us to do the things we are expected to do. Being responsible can also be a big part of keeping ourselves and others safe.
