Principal's Corner
Welcome back everyone and I hope you were able to find time for family. As we begin Term 2, it is a timely reminder of the importance of respectful relationships between parents, students and staff. Without a doubt, parental encouragement and support for a teacher has a huge influence on a child's success. A healthy adult involvement in a child's education including grandparents, uncles, aunts etc multiplies this impact.
At the same time, we know that some children who not do well academically at school can still achieve amazing things. Just look at Albert Einstein who did not speak until he was 4 and did not read until he was 7. Education is a life long journey and those adults who continue to help our students develop social, spiritual competencies, encourage creativity, promote solutions based thinking to problems and to be actively involved provide far more than any one off test or exam results.
The more adults like this who are involved in a child's education, the better the educational outcomes. We have so many wonderful teachers, parents, grandparents involved in nurturing our students. That's the Spirit in Action at Holy Spirit Catholic School.
Just a reminder that Friday April 26 is a Pupil Free Day.
Good luck to all participants in this week's Interhouse Cross Country and thank you to those volunteers assisting on the day.
Happy Days
