I have been fortunate enough to meet with new families looking for a school for their preps in 2024. I’ve enjoyed meeting these little people, some shy, looking at me from behind mums and dads, others energetic and eager to chat, but all excited to look around the ‘big school’. One of my questions is, ‘Why have you chosen Holy Spirit?’ The answer from new families has been similar, in that many people they have come across in the community have told them that Holy Spirit is a wonderful school and has a reputation for nurturing, teaching and instilling the values that help raise kind and respectful children. This makes me proud to be a part of our Holy Spirit family.

On Tuesday evening, we were represented at the annual Reader’s Cup by a group of avid readers.  Although we didn’t place, the students have told me they enjoyed the experience, learning from the other participants and enjoying the games on the night. Thank you, Ms Prinsen, for coordinating.

Thursday and Friday our students will demonstrate their sporting prowess.  This Thursday will see the start of Season 2 sports for Grades 5 and 6. Our teams of Football (Soccer) players and Touch players will represent our school against other schools in our district.  Good luck teams!  Our Interhouse Athletics Carnival is finally upon us.  Friday will see all grades run the ‘red track’. Our students get to experience the same running track that our elite sportsman practice and race on, which is super exciting.  I look forward to seeing the big smiles and the resilience of our students as they join in the races and events on the day.
