Welcome back!
It was wonderful to see so many students transition smoothly into a new school year as they dodged puddles and raindrops!
At Holy Spirit, we are conscious that commencing a new school year can create anxiety for parents as well as students. Nearly all students had met their classmates and teacher prior to the first day to create a sense of familiarity.
Last Wednesday afternoon, many families took the opportunity to drop off student books and meet the teacher. Thank you to our staff for taking the time to be available to meet parents and re-connect with students.
Holy Spirit Catholic School is 50! I look forward to working with you and your child in this golden jubilee year. Recent construction of 12 new classrooms means we are effectively a new school with fifty years of experience and tradition! One ‘golden’ project is the construction of a rainforest boardwalk and an ‘urban warrior’ playground for our older students.
Our Parents and Friends Association have contributed the majority of funds thanks to your support, team for fundraisers, such as the Holy Spirit Fete. Our playground is the first of its kind in schools in Townsville. Thank you to the P & F for supporting this project!
