Last week, almost two hundred students attended a school camp. I was able to spend a short time at the Year 6 Camp and I was particularly impressed with students who showed persistence despite the challenges they faced.

When I arrived at the high ropes course, one student who was not challenged by height patiently worked with her partner encouraging her on the practice ropes.

Once the student gained a little courage, she moved with considerable fear and trepidation to attempt the course. Patiently her teammates waited while she deliberated. Not one word of ridicule or negativity was uttered. ‘Take your time, you can do it’ echoed around the course. Eventually, after considerable time and much support, the student achieved a goal which most of us thought would be beyond her.

Achieving the impossible is possible when you have a team to support you, however, there has to be a willingness to try! 

It was impressive to see our students working together and with our staff members and parents - they are all to be congratulated.

Next Thursday, 25 November we will gather in the area between the hall and the OSHC (Out of Hours School Care) for our Carols by Torchlight. The jolly man in the red suit will be arriving around 5.00pm, a great way to have the Santa photo without the cost.

Over the next two weeks we have many year level and whole school activities, please take time to note the times of these events.
