The Holy Spirit Colour Me Crazy Run was a wonderful event for our school community last Sunday.

There are many discussions around parent engagement in schools. I am grateful for the number of parents who volunteered prior to or on the day of the event. One family whose child was unable to run due to an injury, still assisted that morning, a great example of parent engagement!

Meetings for CAFE (Parents and Friends), Indigenous Parents Reference Group and Class and Community Contacts all occur this week. The parents involved in these groups respond to various school and student needs. They plan and organise events, all are great examples of parent engagement. 

Last week, a group of parents attended the Challenge Games, again engaging with their child in school activities assisting and supporting students and our staff members.

Thank you to all who made our Colour Run a success, especially the staff who planned and organised the event. Well done to Mr Martin and the Colour Run Team! The event raised just under $3000 dollars. Some of the funds raised will be donated to the Rural Fire Brigade for their assistance on the day. If you are keen to be part of the decision making in regard to allocating funds raised by parents, don’t hesitate to attend the next CAFE Meeting, Monday, 6 September - all are welcome!
