APRE 1

Gospel we listen again to the story of the Last Supper. When we come together at Mass to share the Eucharist, which means “thanksgiving”, we remember the meal Jesus shared with his friends the night before he died when he broke bread and shared it with his disciples. We are nourished and strengthened to go out and live good lives. We encourage our students to do the best they can in everything they do.

This week at Holy Spirit we value compassion, meaning sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.  Compassion gives us the ability to understand someone else's situation and the desire to take action to improve their lives.  It is the quality that allows us to step outside of ourselves and see the circumstances of others.  It supplies the will power to do what is necessary to make the world a more caring place.  This week, we pray our students show compassion to those around them.

On Friday, we celebrated Holy Spirit Day.  We were so lucky to have had Andrew Chinn join us for the day.  Andrew shared his music across all grades in preparation for the concert at the end of the day.  The children participated enthusiastically during our liturgy and concert.  Thank you to all those who came along to join us for the liturgy and concert.

This Sunday, students will conclude their Sacramental Programme with a combined Mass.  Over the last couple of months, we have worked closely with the children in preparing them for this special occasion.  We keep all those students who will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist this Sunday with the Holy Spirit Parish in our prayers this week.

Have a great week.

God bless.
