Principal's Corner

Principal's Photo 2018

This week across the nation we celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. During that time Catholic schools in Australia have educated millions of children.

Principal

A national theme of Faith for the Future has been developed for the 200 Years of Catholic Education. It reflects the commitment to build on the work of those who have come before us and to provide a Catholic education for future generations of students in a world that is rapidly changing, and poses new challenges for Catholic school communities.

Bishop Tim Harris reminded us on Sunday at the Holy Spirit Parish celebration that we need people of courage, filled with the Holy Spirit to live the message of Jesus.

Tomorrow, Thursday, 27 May commences National Reconciliation Week. The theme this year is ‘More than a Word. Reconciliation Takes Action.’ Reconciliation is a journey and at the heart of this journey are relationships. We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. In the spirit of reconciliation, we invite you to join us Thursday evening, in the Lynch Family Hall for the screening of the movie Mabo.

Thank you to our students and their families who attended the parish Feast Day celebrations. Many of our students showed great courage and enthusiasm performing for Bishop Tim, Fr. John and the parishioners.

I hope you will be able to join us on Friday afternoon for the liturgy to celebrate Holy Spirit Day, our day of celebration. The liturgy will commence at approximately 1.45 pm. and will be followed by a concert with Andrew Chinn. Andrew will be working with our students across the day.

God bless
Geraldine
