This week, will the chatter in our playgrounds, homes and carparks be the Fete or NAPLAN? While I suspect there will be little of both, I believe most of the children’s conversation will centre on the Fete.

Over the next two weeks, children across the country will participate in NAPLAN – the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy.  Our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be working online to complete all tests with the exception of Year 3 Writing, which will be a paper test. While the students are prepared and most will take it in their stride, it is important that we, the adults do not create unnecessary anxiety for students.

NAPLAN is a series of four tests which will assess a student’s performance at a particular point in time. The NAPLAN results for our school will provide data to assist us with future curriculum planning.

Thank you to the parents and family members who have volunteered to work on stalls on Friday evening. We are still in need of volunteers and I hope you can respond to our need. 

The parent response to requests for selling dodgers, grocery and Tombola items has been more than generous, our last request is for an hour of your time.
