Defence
First off, this year we can support our defence community with ANZAC Day Dawn Services and March at both Townsville and Thuringowa in the usual way. If you are unable to attend these services the Light Up The Dawn Ceremonies are encouraged with support from your local radio stations, it was a big success last year when Covid-19 restrictions were in full force.
The other big thing to happen in Townsville is our Fete!! Friday the 14th of May!!
We are always looking for volunteers to help on the night, always looking for donations so keep an eye on the newsletter for updates!!
Don't forget to remind your children about our Wednesday morning tea activity in the 3A classroom that Zita and I organise, it has been well attended and so much fun is had by all of us. As well you can catch either Zita and myself at the Breakfast program that is run in the Hall on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday. See you for toast and a smile to start your day.
Saturday April 24 - My Dad & Me
ADF dads and their kids are invited to a morning that's all about dad. Each month offers different themed activities that allow dads and their kids to connect through fun. Keep an eye out on DCO social media for the monthly group details and remember - this is a mum free zone, please give her the morning off!

ANZAC Day Services
Townsville and Thuringowa RSL sub-branches, in partnership with Townsville City Council, are finalising plans for ANZAC Day commemorations to proceed in in accordance with current COVID-19 restrictions.
Townsville City Service Details:
5.20am - Dawn Service, ANZAC Park, The Strand
8.30am - Parade form up at Strand Park
9.00am - Parade step-off, proceeding from Strand Park, along The Strand into ANZAC Park
Thuringowa Service Details:
5.40am - Dawn Service, Village Green, Riverway Precinct
8.30am - Parade form up at Weir School car park
9.00am - Parade step-off, proceeding from Weir School along Ross River Rd into the Riverway Precinct.
9.30am - Mid Morning service, Village Green, Riverway Precinct
