Principal's Corner

Principal's Photo 2018
Throughout March there are many 'special' days highlighted such as Clean Up Australia Day, International Women's Day, Close the Gap and Harmony Day are just some of the days which will occur over the coming weeks.
What does this mean for us as a catholic school?  The catholic school is not a private or an independent school, we belong to a system and are part of the mission of the Catholic Church.
As such we celebrate diversity, include others and as Pope Francis  reminds us "We  need one another, we have a shared responsibility for others and the world." Each one of these days provides such a focus.

During this term, our fundraising for Caritas also focuses on the responsibility of sharing with those who don't have enough access to education, employment or some of life's essentials which we take for granted.

The catholicity of our school should be evident to all, our students regularly demonstrate faith in action. Currently some Year 5 students are running a Colouring Competition for our younger students. In one day they raised $33 and their pride in doing something for others was tangible.

One of the most important things about being a Catholic school in the 21st century is knowing who we are and what purpose we serve.  We need to have a clear understanding of our role as a Catholic school.  To assist with this and as an important part of our School Improvement process, our Year 5 and Year 6 students, staff members, parents and carers are asked to participate in a Catholic Identity survey which is conducted by Leuven University in Belgium.
The information (it is anonymous) from the survey provides our school with the information to assist with the future direction of our school which impacts on our students.
To participate in the survey you will need to:
  •  click on the following link    https://ecsi.site/au/assessing/.
  • click on Take the ECSI survey
  • enter the password Ghj654
  • click new user
  • enter the Survey Access Code GS49vD

You will then receive a username and password. It is a good idea to keep this in a safe place or email it to yourself. Pleae click HERE  for further instructions.

Thank you for taking time to complete the survey, a great activity on a rainy afternoon or evening! Your feedback is important for the future of our students.
