Welcome back to another fun filled year at Holy Spirit Catholic School. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces this morning as parents and students arrived through the school gates. It created such a positive buzz around the school that our students have settled tremendously. This is why we love coming to Holy Spirit.
Over the holidays, we have seen some continuation of our building project, the commencement of our solar project stage 3 where we are installing Tesla batteries to store our solar energy, the improvement to our concrete surface in front of the Prep, Year 3 and Year 4 areas. These areas have been a concern for us as it did become slippery when it was wet. Not now.
A huge thank you to our groounds staff for a monumentos effort to get our grounds looking fantastic. The gents came back from holidays to grass knee height and hedges etc over grown with all the rain received in the holidays. Our grounds are getting the finishing touches but already stand out for all the right reasons.
Last week during our open classrooms, we had Ray and Luke from the Cowboys here to assist us to make families aware of our new project this year, " The Resilience Project". The staff and students will go through various lessons around gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotioanl literacy. There are some tough words there for little ones but we adults can certainly learn a few things from our young people. Over the coming weeks, we will endeavour to introduce the project to our school community.
