In partnership with schools across Queensland, the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) connects the finest young musicians with a team of eminent international and national conductors in pursuit of musical excellence

SHEP gives students the opportunity to:

• Work in an intensive environment of musical excellence with their peers offering a unique opportunity to extend and develop their musical skills
• Work in either a Wind Orchestra, String Orchestra or Vocal Ensemble
• Work with a team of eminent conductors from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University
• Represent their School (in full uniform) in a Grand Finale Concert on the Sunday of the program.

Congratulations to Emily Walker who was selected from Holy Spirit Catholic School to participate in this event. Emily was part of the Vocal Ensemble which was conducted by Tim Sherlock. Emily was chosen from a group of 50 students to perform one of two solos.

Emily says participating was a fun experience and she learnt tons of things.
