16 Days of Activism: FREE Yoga sessions

DCO will also be offering free yoga sessions during this event at the Community Information Centre in Flinders St on Thursday 03 Dec 20.

Why Yoga?

Yoga moves you from the sympathetic nervous system to the parasympathetic nervous system, or from fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest. With yoga you may experience less anxiety and enter into a more relaxed state that is in your control. The practice of yoga enables you to understand yourself and cultivate a more nonjudgmental relationship with yourself, whilst building a greater sense of self-trust and worth. Through the practice of yoga you can become more confident and develop a greater sense of self.

Shout out for RAAF Base Townsville families: Register for 2020 Xmas Drive

2020 has been a difficult year for many and unfortunately the RAAF Base Townsville Christmas Treat has fallen victim to COVID-19 and the current restrictions.

Rest assured while the Corona Virus may have hampered travel and crippled airlines, the Reindeer Express is still running as per usual and Santa has confirmed to the RAAF Base Townsville Welfare Committee that he will be visiting the base this year. Although restrictions mean Santa will not be stopping for tea he will be delivering gifts to the boys and girls.
