APRE News

No one likes to do something difficult when there is an easier way!   Sometimes it is hard to do what is right but in Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus told us that we should not try to take the easy way out but follow his way.   Jesus leaves his followers in no doubt that there are three elements for the disciple: he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Christ.  How many of us pretend we don’t see things that need doing because we are too busy or feel it is someone else’s responsibility?   We continually encourage and congratulate those students who respect their environment and pick up any litter they see even if they did not put it there so as to keep our school clean and green.

This week at Holy Spirit, we value kindness.  We define kindness as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.  In simple terms, it means being good to people around us.  We can do this by being polite to them, offering them emotional support, helping them in any way or by being supportive to them.  This week we pray for our students to think about their actions and how they can be kind to others.  We can share with them that kindness is such a simple thing to achieve and can be spread by each and every one of us.  By telling someone they look nice today, holding the door open or by saying hello to someone they walk past to let them know that they have thought about them.

Congratulations to those students who received the Sacraments of Confirmation andAPRE2 First Eucharist on Sunday with the Holy Spirit Parish.  Despite being restricted by COVID-19 regulations, it was lovely to see families and friends support the children on their faith journey.  We keep all those remaining students who will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist next weekend with the Holy Spirit Parish in our prayers this week.

God bless.
