As we head towards the end of Term 4, I would like to update you on the progress of our buildings. If you have watched the 'virtual' tour of the school on our Facebook page, you will see that the first stage of our School Master Plan has come to fruition.
Prep, Year 3 and Year 4 students are now settled into their new learning spaces (classrooms). By Term 4, Year 1 and Year 2 will move into D Block (the two storey block) and E Block opposite D Block. These rooms have been painted and carpets cleaned
The transformation has not occurred without its challenges. Throughout the process the children have been outstanding in demonstrating their patience and resilience.
Thank you to the School Board members who have assisted and supported the building program. This is a small group who work quietly to assist with the planning and development of our school.
The Parents and Friends' Association too, has been supportive and committed funds to the construction of a new playground. Money raised from 10 000 Steps will also be committed to this project.
Paul Martin is the Acting Principal as I am currently caring for my elderly mother.
Wishing you the best for the remainder of the term and the upcoming holidays.
God bless
Geraldine
APRE
Caroline Fuller, Assistant Principal - Religious Education, is on the road to recovery but will be away for the remainder of the term. While Caroline is carrying a few injuries, her humour remains intact! We look forward to her return.
Thank you to all who supported this event. Congratulations, our students raised $12,000 to assist with the development of playground areas. Well done!
Friday 21st September, we will be having a coloured clothes day with a gold coin donation. Children can choose to come dressed as a farmer or free choice and all money raised from coloured clothes and P & F will be given to Drought Angels or Buy a Bale.
Battery World Recycling Competition
WINNERS 1st Prize Battery World Recycling Competition
Holy Spirit School have received 1st Prize in the Battery World Recycling Competition . We were excited and grateful to receive a very generous prize from Battery World at our assembly recently.
Recycling batteries is important because they are so widely used in everyday items including our vehicles.
When batteries are not recycled they rot away in landfill sites where these chemicals may leak into the ground, which can cause soil and water pollution. When these chemicals contaminate soil and water, animals, humans and the environment can be harmed. Recycling is a great way to help protect the environment.
Winning this prize confirmed that we are on the right track and making a difference. Our students know that they are our future and what they start doing today can make a huge impact on our tomorrow. The generous prize of $1000.00 will most certainly be put to good use.
Thank you to our students, staff and families who support us in this initiative. Remember that all car batteries can be left at Battery World. They will even pick them up if you give them a call. Small batteries can be left in the Battery Bin near our office. Don't forget to mention Holy Spirit School and they will weigh any donated batteries and add it to our recycling collection/tally. Thank you Battery World!

The NEiTA awards recognises the importance of the profession, its professional standards and the critical role and impact teachers have on young people’s lives.
NEiTA is Australia and New Zealand’s only community centred teaching awards program. Teacher nominations must meet eligibility guidelines and criteria, and are submitted by school parents, school councils, parent associations, committees of management, secondary student councils, and community organisations. They are then assessed by an expert panel of educationalists in a two staged process.
R U OK?Day is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that any day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?” and support those struggling with life . Taking part can be as simple as learning R U OK?’s four steps so you can have a conversation that could change a life.
The day is about inspiring people to start these conversations every day of the year. Help get your school, workplace and community asking, "Are you ok?" with the resources below and our Every Day Resources.
About difference
Children come from an endless range of different families, backgrounds, cultures and religions. They also have a variety of interests, learning styles and abilities.
Despite all of these differences, everyone should feel included. Feeling included is important for mental health, and is supported best when diversity is respected and valued.
Please visit the Kidsmatter website, for more information.
We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am at Tuckshop.
Your support with donations of spreads (not nut based) would be appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at Tuckshop.
